Musik – Poesie – Stadtraum
Ein Festival in zwei Kapiteln

In Clang Cut Book erzählen Komponisten, Autoren und Künstler Geschichten ihrer Metropolen. Sie zeigen uns rebellische Territorien, Vorstädte des Schweigens oder 'Punk-freie' Sparkassenvorräume und sprechen von den Lärmregionen des Weltalls. Sie reden von Kiezharmonie, Rinnstein und Polizeidienst, aber auch von Stille, Fläche und vom Verschwinden.
Unter dem Stichwort „Der poetische Raum“ lud das Ensemble KNM Berlin 2012 Protagonisten der Musik- und Literaturszene Argentiniens und Deutschlands für gemeinsame Arbeiten ein. Der begleitende Realisierungswettbewerb erfragte und prämierte junge Positionen. Die Ergebnisse – ob nun Citytour, Klangmassage, Installation, Perfomance oder Konzertstück – stellt Clang Cut Book in gebündelter Form vor.

OPUS XXI
1International Summer Academy for Contemporary Music

Opus XXI is a Summer Academy for contemporary music, which takes place in the ancient monastery “La Chartreuse”, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, in the beautiful landscape of the Provence / France.
Since 2001, the Summer Academy Opus XXI has provided an open space for young qualified postgraduate students, where they can immerse themselves in contemporary music, ensemble repertoire and fundamentals of improvisation.
A group of 22 postgraduate composers and instrumentalists get together with a distinguished «composer in residence» and an experienced «ensemble for New Music» for an intensive work experience. In the daily workshops for instrumentalists, they rehearse new pieces and work with improvisation. Composers explore how to perform and conduct their own pieces with the «ensemble for New Music». These practical workshops are complemented by lectures on analysis, career training, artistic aesthetics, crossover, new audiences and a composition masterclass.
Opus XXI provides an opportunity for international instrumentalists and composers to experience contemporary music in a truly personal and inspiring atmosphere that facilitates experimentation, improvisation and the encounter with different aesthetics.
At the end of the Summer Academy, the workshop results are presented in a final concert at “La Chartreuse” in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.
Opus XXI is a partner in the ULYSSES network project. It supports and promotes young European artists and encourages their mobility by providing them with the opportunity to live their passion in the best European venues dedicated to New Music.
